Solar Oven Experiments
To explore the idea of passive solar heating, Kahikatea have used the Schoolgen resource to create solar ovens. The science concepts of convection, conduction, insulation, radiation and absorption have all been explored. Look how hard we have worked! And yes, they do work! In class temperature in the sun = 12 degrees C, inside class in the sun, INSIDE A SOLAR OVEN = 32 degrees C. A huge thanks to our local DOMINOES for the donated boxes!
